Privacy Policy
DecideForUs · Last updated: June 13, 2026
DecideForUs (“we”, “us”) is a decision-making app for couples. This policy explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We built this app for ourselves and our partners, and we treat your data the way we’d want ours treated: no ads, no cross-app tracking, no selling your data.
Data we collect
- Email address — to create your account and respond to support requests.
- User ID — an internal identifier for your account and for pairing with your partner.
- Location (precise or approximate) — only when you ask for nearby suggestions or local weather for a plan. Used in the moment and not stored long-term beyond the plan record. Never collected in the background.
- Photos & camera — only the photos you choose to add to your shared memory journal or profile picture. We do not access your photo library otherwise.
- Your content — the plans, decisions, wishlists, favorites, and anniversaries you create in the app.
- Product interaction — basic in-app usage (e.g. plan generations, paywall views) to understand which features help.
- Subscription status — to unlock the features included in your plan.
We do not collect your name, phone number, physical address, contacts, health, financial, or advertising data. Payment is handled entirely by Apple / Google — we never see your card details.
How we use your data
To operate the app’s core features (build plans, sync between partners, remember what you both love, manage your subscription), to provide customer support, and to understand feature usage so we can improve. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who we share data with
We use a small set of service providers to make the app work. We only send what each needs:
- Supabase — our database and storage (email, user ID, your content, photos). Policy
- RevenueCat — subscription management (user ID, product & subscription events). Policy
- OpenAI — generates day plans from anonymous prompts (no email, no user ID). Policy
- Google Places — nearby places (location & search query). Policy
- TMDB — movie metadata (search query). Policy
- OpenWeather — weather for plans (location coordinates). Policy
- Ticketmaster — event suggestions (location & query). Policy
We never sell your personal data to anyone.
Data retention
- Account data is kept until you delete your account.
- Location is not stored long-term beyond the plan you created.
- Subscription records are kept while active and up to one year after expiry for compliance and support, then purged.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete Accountin the app. This permanently removes your account and your content. Subscription cancellation is handled separately through your App Store / Google Play settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under UK/EU GDPR and California CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or by contacting us at the email below.
Children
DecideForUs is rated 4+ but is intended for adults in relationships. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with our providers under their security controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
